IT Support Specialist October 1990 present
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and collaborating closely with management team members.
Duties:
Responsible for diagnosing & resolving hardware, software and end user problems
- First point of contact for all IT related issues
- Developing the infrastructure to meet the changing needs of the business
- Working within a TCP/IP network environment, including DHCP, DNS, Wireless and Ethernet
- Responsible for rolling out new equipment and updating software
- Investigate and resolve complex IT support issues, including CNC and CAD machine
- Support for legacy systems, Windows 2000/Win9X and DOS based machines
- Where required, communicate with third party solution providers
- Configuring and managing backup and restore procedures
- Identify and report on budgetary requirement for IT projects
- Provide primary support for LAN/WAN administration
- Provide remote access to local resources where and when required
- Provide support for mobile devices
- Knowledge of Windows Servers and Client operating systems
- Support for Linux Servers: Apache, Postfix, Samba, FTP, etc..
- Development and management of the businesses web presence via the Joomla CMS suite
- Management of the business e-commerce solution via Virtuemart

- Physically fit and able to lift IT equipment
- Experience of problem solving and Quality Assurance Procedures
- Able to communicate complex IT issues to suppliers and non-technical staff
- Ability to work well within a team environment and on one own
- IT security experience including ant-virus, malware, encryption, etc…

- Able to develop web application specific to business needs
