Personal Summary

A competent IT Support Specialist with a proven track record of providing specialist technical support. Extensive experience working in the front line resolving a range of technical issues and facilitating change management. IT Support Specialist October 1990 present

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and collaborating closely with management team members.

Duties:

Responsible for diagnosing & resolving hardware, software and end user problems

  • First point of contact for all IT related issues
  • Developing the infrastructure to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Working within a TCP/IP network environment, including DHCP, DNS, Wireless and Ethernet
  • Responsible for rolling out new equipment and updating software
  • Investigate and resolve complex IT support issues, including CNC and CAD machine
  • Support for legacy systems, Windows 2000/Win9X and DOS based machines
  • Where required, communicate with third party solution providers
  • Configuring and managing backup and restore procedures
  • Identify and report on budgetary requirement for IT projects
  • Provide primary support – LAN/WAN administration
  • Provide remote access to local resources where and when required
  • Provide support for mobile devices
  • Knowledge of Windows Servers and Client operating systems
  • Support for Linux Servers: Apache, Postfix, Samba, FTP, etc..
  • Development and management of the businesses web presence via the Joomla CMS suite
  • Management of the business e-commerce solution via Virtuemart

  • Physically fit and able to lift IT equipment
  • Experience of problem solving and Quality Assurance Procedures
  • Able to communicate complex IT issues to suppliers and non-technical staff
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and on one own
  • IT security experience including ant-virus, malware, encryption, etc…
  • Experience of web content management system
  • Able to develop web application specific to business needs
  • Always prepared to learn new skills and adapt to everyday challenges
